Most of what is available on copyright is either too much or too little and always assumes the reader already knows the basics when very few people do. Nothing is ever illustrated which is absurd in a business which concerns pictures. There is a need for a simple, layman’s guide to show what can and what can’t be done and to answer the questions which most people don’t realise they don’t know. The guide that follows is illustrated with engravings and photographs, most of which have been agreed by photographers who have been only too happy to contribute to a guide which should help everyone to understand better and to manage their own archives with greater care. |
